North Carolina Psychiatric Pharmacist Collaborative
THCQ Consulting President and CEO, Dr. Norris Turner, was invited to present about the important role of pharmacists in "Transitions of Care from the Behavioral Health Lens” during the North Carolina Psychiatric Pharmacist Collaborative meeting.
THCQ Consulting President and CEO, Norris Turner, was invited to present the “Important Role of Pharmacists in Transitions of Care from the Behavioral Health Lens” at the North Carolina Psychiatric Pharmacist Collaborative virtual meeting in May 2023.
During the meeting they discussed the vital role of psychiatric pharmacists in transitions of care, team-based, whole-person clinical care in North Carolina, upcoming changes to North Carolina Medicaid with Tailored Care Management, the North Carolina Formerly Incarcerated Transitions (NC FIT) Program, and more!
This presents a significant opportunity for pharmacists to advocate for shared payment based on the integral role we play in managing effective transitions of care for individuals with serious and persistent mental illness. The Collaborative members mentioned that a compelling business case will need to be made by psychiatric pharmacists to key decision makers for Tailored Plan payment in the State.
THCQ is excited to continue working with the NC Psychiatric Pharmacist Collaborative to advance the role of pharmacists in behavioral health-related transitions of care.
A big thank you to Jerry McKee and Vera Reinstein for organizing this inspiring meeting. Also great work that you and the others on the NC Collaborative do every day on the frontlines of providing care for those living with serious and persistent and mental illness.
